This post is part of my Prague's travel diary but I decided to post this separately because I think that the Old Town Square deserves a single spot. In my opinion, the historic Old Town Square is the life of Prague. Your Prague experience will never be complete if your feet didn't land in this Square. It was where the charm of Prague was combined in one place. The homes of the great structures and the churches of Europe were here and definitely an eye popper that you should aim to see. The details are incredible and amazingly preserved. Old but beautiful.

If you are in the Charles Bridge, then you are on the right track as the end of it will bring you to the Square. The Old Town is in between the Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge. It will be a walk but I assure you that you won't mind it at all as the view along was scenic and entertaining.

The Prague Orloj was the primary attraction of the Square. It was like a crowd magnet. The clock is one of the World’s oldest and still operating astronomical clocks. There is a clockwork show every hour which made the people gathered around the Old Town Hall. It was called “The Walk of the Apostles” which shows the moving sculptures and figures of Apostles and a skeleton at the end (which I think represents Death) while the clock is striking indicating that an hour has passed. The show lasted for a minute, I think, not sure though, since that moment, I was just looking up and enjoying it, I even forgot to film it. Considering how old it was, it was just amazing that every clock dials is still working.

Church of our Lady Before Tyn or the Church of Mother of God before Tyn is a Gothic style structure which is the main Church in the City and one of the most striking feature of the Square. The two main spires of the church is also composed of little spires which made the look so dominant and pretty cool!

Another church to be found in the Square is the Church of St. Nicholas, a Baroque style church that was built on the 13th Century and still stood nice and mighty up to the present time.

The reason why it is one of the favorite spots in the City is due to its historic feature, architectural structures and artistic vibes. The Square has restaurants, shops, museum and hotels that you can definitely pick anything to do while you are around. Artists and entertainers were also present in the middle of the park that you can just sit somewhere and enjoy watching them and all the movement in the Square.
You can pick with either of these two wheels if you need a ride around.
Every corner was pretty!

The tour at the Square won't be complete without seeing this center from the bird's eye view. The uniformed colored roof and seeing each corner from above will make you see Prague on different perspective. In order to see it, you need to climb on the Bell Tower. The climb was composed of narrow spiral stairs but if it didn't appeal to you, you can opt to use a lift for faster ascend. The aerial view will cost you around 100Kc which I definitely recommend for you to spend.
Spotted that rooftop restaurant.
Can you spot the Prague Castle at the right end?!
Old Town Square captivated my heart. It's uniqueness and culture. Indeed, the heart of the City that keeps it alive. The place where the old meets the new. The beauty of Prague in a square.
For Prague visits, I would highly recommend to never miss the Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge. Every spots deserve to be in your itinerary but these two are the City's most visited and the most unforgettable. And as I told you earlier, your trip will never be complete without it. Trust me. ;)
