URBAN SANDS | ILOILO

Updated: Sep 13, 2021

The 1st time I visited Iloilo was for a business trip and a year after that, I was back with my husband and son for a vacation. I had some memories during my childhood here as this was where I was born (will tell you some stories with my other Iloilo blog). I found the City historic and crowded. Well not as crowded as Cebu or Davao but still unexpectedly dense. When I was here for a work trip, hotels were quite difficult to pick. Those on the center looks old and some of the new hotels were located along Diversion Road where cost was much higher. So I planned our accommodation carefully and glad to found the Urban Sands Hotel.

Urban Sands Iloilo is located at M.H. Del Pilar St., Molo, Iloilo City. It was still near the Center but was less crowded. The street was free from noise as the hotel was located on the other side of the main road. Urban Sands felt like a resort than a hotel. It was small with few rooms around.

They got a neat and almost empty lobby area. It has a museum vibe because of the white paint and photos hanging at the wall with all the jar and wood curved display.

The pool was the main view of the resort. Rooms are built around it. It has a kiddie and adult pool. The path walk was full of pebble sand and there were plants and palms around which I really loved. Urban Sands feel like somewhere far from the City. I was satisfied that I picked to stay here while we explore Iloilo.

I didn't see a lot of guests when we were here. Most of the time, it was just us and a few staff.

There were couches and sun loungers around the pool. A good spot to chill.

The room was in a regular size good for two persons. Has a queen size bed with a small side table and a little space to move around. I liked the glass door with a curtain that can be kept open if you want a view of the pool outside.

Our plated breakfast included at our accommodation.

Restaurant is located just after the entrance gate of the resort. We only tried to dine once because we were outside most of the time and we used to have our breakfast served at our room.

All in all, Urban Sands was a nice picked. Not your conventional hotel style and the service was instant and friendly. Definitely recommended for anyone who will be at staying at Iloilo, may it short or longer trip.
