Alona beach is one of the most visited beaches at Panglao, Bohol as it is a location of different resorts and one of the gates going to the other islands/beaches at Panglao. It has at least a kilometer long stretch of white/cream sand along with line of restaurants and stores. Unfortunately, when we came on the month of October, the shore was full of sea weeds and leaves from the trees around. The waves were a little strong also. From the shore, you will see small boats docked from afar, which were use in island hopping and fishing.
LOCATION
Alona Beach is located at Panglao in the province of Bohol, Philippines. Point of entry from Manila will be the Tagbilaran Airport. Panglao is around 20km from Tagbilaran and has been once of the center of tourism in Bohol due to its beautiful beaches and underwater activities. From the airport, easiest public transport is a shuttle van. It can be shared or can be rented privately. The drive was around 30 minutes.
You can find the Amorita Resort at the other end of Panglao beach, one of the luxury resorts in Panglao.
There was also a nice private beach front resort with a line of palm trees.
So we took advantage and made it a back drop.
If you want a larger shore, go to the half end of the beach. You'll enjoy the wide area of white sand. I'm just sad that we didn't saw it clean. Maybe they have a nicer shore during summer season.

We went back to hotel after sunset and return at night for our dinner. Alona was busy at night though only half of it and not as big as Boracay party. There were few performances at the shore like fire dances.
We were scheduled for an Island hopping the next day but unfortunately, it rained the night before so it was windy and the waves were huge in the morning.

On our last day at Panglao, we decided to check Alona one last time and had our breakfast along the shore which we never did for the days that we were there. We also bought some souvenirs home.
Although we saw Alona on a not so good condition, it never became a reason not to like it as the beauty of its fine sand and turquoise ocean is worth the visit. And since we failed to do the island hopping, it gave me another reason to return. I just hope that when we come back, resorts and restaurants still kept their distance from the remaining shore of Alona.
