When I booked a flight to Bacolod, I didn't have any idea what to expect in the City. I was excited because it will be the first time that Xander is travelling with us. He just turned one at that time and his first airplane ride so I was ecstatic to made it more fun for him. I searched every places we can go. Beach was not a good idea because we need to travel hours to reach it and I cannot plan for a long road drive for Xander. I was about to give up and settled to just stay in the City then all of a sudden there was just one post about Campuestohan Highland Resort. If you search for Bacolod tourist spot, it didn't usually pop up so I was lucky at that time I found a blog about it. It was new at the time (this was 2015), the reason it was not yet expose to a lot of blogs.
We arrived at the airport and find a taxi to bring us to Campuestohan. There is an alternative public transport outside the airport if you want to be more economical, but it will take 2 to 3 rides and longer hours of travel to get into the place and we can't do it with Xander and a baggage on us. The travel time on a private car will be 45 mins to an hour so as expected, the taxi driver was asking for more than we knew. Good thing I am rightly informed. And it is really good to research before going to a place so you will not be a victim of scam or anyone taking advantage. The driver was asking for P1,500.00 as he said it was far and he might go back without any passenger with him. Though understandable, I have read that a taxi can bring us there for the cost of P800.00 to P1,000.00. I stiffly said that I can only spend P1,000 for the fare. After thinking, he agreed on my price.
The way going to Campuestohan was a smooth concreted road. The scenery along the way was pretty nice. When we were almost on the area, I knew that the altitude was changing. I already saw the mountain that was surrounded by fog. It really got me excited. And when we went out to the air conditioned taxi, a cold breeze welcomed our skin though the weather was sunny. And the surrounding was really good. I fell in love with the place instantly.

This is the Log Cabin where our room is located.
We have only 4 days and 3 nights at Bacolod, and I chose to spend the first night at Campuestohan. I booked for one log cabin room without air conditioned. Mostly it will not be an option especially that we have a child and I always make sure that we are comfortable with our room. I was weighing if we will get a smaller air conditioned space or larger space but with a ceiling fan only. At the end, I chose the larger room without the air-con because I want a larger space for Xander so he can freely move around and the log cabin was the largest on the choices that will perfectly fit for us. Since the resort is on a highland, just on the foot of the mountain, I was not worried with the choice of un air-conditioned room especially that we came on a Ber month where the weather was colder.
The log cabin room looks unreal especially that you can see the mountain from behind. It has two floors with 4 rooms on the top. The structure itself really looks like it is all made of log and the material that was used inside the room was all made of wood. Though it was just a style to look like you are somewhere in the middle of the forest (walls are made of concrete) and the effect to make it look colder and isolated somewhere was so effective.
The room as what I wanted was large, has two beds, a restroom and a tv. I love that there was a huge window with a sofa bed beside it. The view really made it worth it. Xander loved staying in there.
A child can fit on the window so it is dangerous to leave them alone if the window is open since it can be easily climbed. So either don't leave them without a company or just close the screen window if they are there.
Here are the view from our window:
Our view was the City from afar, the hanging bridge and the zip line. The restaurant was also beside it.
Since we have Xander, we made the two beds as one big bed and pushed it on the wall so that Xander will be safe from falling. As you can see, these two was having a nice afternoon sleep.
So this little boy was energized when he waked up. Let me flood you with his woke up like this photos.
Where is your neck baby?? :D
Time to look around and grab some snacks from the Resto.
The stair of the Log Cabin.
And this is the Log Cabin from the different angle. It was soooo lovely, isn't it?! It felt like I am in New Zealand.
Good venue for photoshoots with this background and those green and healthy grass..

The restaurant was the one facing the entrance of the resort. It was quite huge and has two storey. Seems like made of log but I think it was just around 60% made of woods.
I was impressed of the dining tables and chairs. Those were all woods that will cost you a lot if you bought it on the market.
We ordered a burger for snack. Unfortunately, it didn't go well on my taste buds.
The view from the Restaurant
This maybe the downside of this magical place. The food in their restaurant was not good. And you don't actually have a choice but to eat there. Going outside to look for other store was far and since Campuestuhan is located on the farthest end of Talisay, Negros, you wouldn't expect a grocery stores. There was a free breakfast included on our room booking but honestly, I cannot remember what we had for breakfast that time. It means it's not something worth remembering. Hahaha! And there was no mineral water that we knew. They have local bottled water. Would not complain if only we don't have a baby. So I suggest if you will have a day tour or will stay longer, pack your own food. Though I hope after two years, they improved already.

I'm really excited to show you the photos of the place. Sorry if I will flood you with a lot but it will be difficult for me to pick the best because everything was worth capturing. It was as if I am dreaming and woke up on a different dimension. There's a lot to do on the place, from swimming, crossing the hanging bridge, zipline, riding the hanging bike for those who loves adventure.

The huts may be my favorite look of the place. Those scattered huts which looks like a hobbit house was so pretty and cute. It can be rented for overnight which can fit a six person. I thought at first that it was tiny but when we just stand beside it, those huts are big.
There were on-going improvements in the area so you will see construction site and materials on some of the photos.
There are a lot of bench and cottage around the area where you can rest once you get tired of walkin.

Kingkong groans every few minutes. Good thing it was not that loud when we were there, Xander will surely freak out. You can also go up and sit on his hand.
This shot really looked as if we were in the home of Kingkong. The mountain and the clouds made it look so mysterious.

There are two swimming pool in the area. The other one was just beside the restaurant. This one is the bigger one and located on the center of the attraction.
It was so inviting so I tried to soak Xander's feet. We never tried to swim because it was a little cold and Xander didn't want to let go.
And this beautiful reflection during sunset.
Rest after the pool..

The shoe house seemed like the shower room since it is just beside the swimming pool. Not sure though.

This will be really fun for a large group. I was so tempted to try it. But I didn't. And the personnel was so nice, they let us go up even if we will just take a photo.

Though it looks easy and short, it was different when you are on it. It was quite long and the movement was strong considering that I was alone when I cross it. What more if it's full of people moving on top. At first it should be the 3 of us to cross the bridge but then hubby felt it so just after a few steps, he went back and said he will just wait me below. So I let him carry Xander and I actually enjoyed being there alone while snapping a lot of photos around. And the time was perfect because the sun was started to set.
And here are the photos from the bridge..
It started to get foggy and cold so we went back first to the restaurant to order something for dinner. They delivered it directly to our room.
The next morning, everything was more beautiful in sunrise..
That heart shaped palm tree..
Then suddenly we woke up from our beautiful dream and we have to leave the Neverland. If you know what I mean. The place where the child's dream do come true and all the beautiful places exist. But I will assure you, Campuestohan is for every ages. You will never run out of activities. And even if you will just walk or sit, you will be delighted. What a great place and I salute the owners behind this beautiful land. Amazing concept and location. Bacolod is surely proud to have this Resort on their map. Worth to add on your bucket list.
