REVISITING TALI | JO & JOHNNY'S BEACH AND DIVE INN RESORT

Updated: Sep 30, 2021

It was 2013 when I first knew about Tali. I had already blog my first Tali experience but to those who heard Tali for the first time, I will try to provide all the details you need to know. Tali is an exclusive subdivision which have a good access to the beach and cliff picturesque view so most of the houses were built for commercial purposes and or most of the owners offer their vacation houses for rent. It is located at the far end of Nasugbu, Batangas, a good 3 hours trip from Manila. Since I experienced Tali, I kept on telling my friends that we should go back but it was hard to find a cheaper place good for less than 10 persons since most of the rental houses cost 15k to 30k and more. To be able to shoulder little expenses, I need to gather at least 15 persons so the division of amount will be affordable for everyone and unfortunately, my consistent vacation buddies were consist of only 5 to 8 persons. Until last year, 2015, I tried to search for tali houses again and suddenly found Jo and Johnny's Resort's website. Jo and Johnny's is an inn/hostel which consists of 6 rooms. It has a swimming pool and some of the room has its own kitchen where the group can do their cooking. The place was relaxing and comfortable. And as I told you, Tali will always be a good choice of a great weekend escapade as it is just a few hours from Manila.

The swimming pool depth starts from 4 ft. But if you will notice, there was a darker area on the other end of the pool. It was actually a space intended for diving lessons so I can't imagine how deep it was. Be careful.

The Rooms

We were 8 in the group and I got two rooms for us, the Sting Ray Room and the Lower Suites (Frog Fish) which was good for 4 persons each. In the photo below, we were on the Lower Suites Room that came with a kitchen, a living room and a bedroom. The living room came with a bathroom and the bedroom has its own bathroom also. So it was quite a good deal having 2 bathrooms and separated bedroom which had two queen beds and was actually large for a group of four. Our group can happily fit in this room if only it was not limited for only four persons. Although the kitchen and living room was not air conditioned, it was not really a problem since it has a ceiling fan. It also came with complete kitchen utensils for the cooking but if you intend to use a bbq grill, you need to add additional amount and do it on a separate grilling area. Sting Ray room was purely an air-conditioned room with two queen beds and own private bathroom (sorry didn't have a photo). The two rooms cost P9,000.00, 5k for the Lower Suites and 4k for the Sting Ray.

Around Tali

Main Beach

The Main Beach was a 2-4 minutes walking distance from Jo and Johnny's. The wave was strong and it was windy when we came so we didn't tried to swim. We just played volleyball and rented a ball for P350, good for an hour.

Tali Cliff

Tali cliff is my most favorite spot at Tali. It has the most picturesque landscape and you can never go wrong for either sunrise and sunset or even any time of the day. It is also where the cliff diving happens although at that time it was closed to public due to the strong waves.

From the Main Beach, we just walked going to the cliff and I don't think I would recommend you to do that unless you are fond of walking or you want to check the surroundings. Hahaha! We spent almost 20 mins walking on the empty streets of Tali to reach the place and I'm not sure if there are shorter ways to it. The view was worth it and although we kept on laughing to ourselves because of that adventure and told ourselves to never do that again, we just repeat it going back to our inn. But the way going back was a little shorter, I don't know why. And if you didn't bring a car, there was no other choice but to walk around as there was no public transport inside Tali. Although tiring, it was actually fun. A good bonding time with your friends. And wherever your rental house is located in Tali, never miss the Cliff or never come at all.

Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is the beach located just beside the Tali cliff. Although it has a calmer waves and clearer water than the Main Beach, Sunset Beach bedding was full of stone and the shore was also a mixed of fine sand and stones. So if you want a good swimming area, Main Beach is still the best option.

These shots show how clear the water was.

Swimming Time!

Our last day was spent having a breakfast by the pool, swimming and having fun with each other.

Naughty friends! Someone pushed Arem on the pool while we were doing photo ops. Tsk tsk. Don't worry, no one got hurt. :)

The fail jump shots!

We never met the owner/s when we were there. All the booking and conversation was thru phone and email. But they have caretakers at the Inn that were really helpful. They also serves meal if you want a no hassle vacation. In our case, since there were friends who were willing to cook, we just brought ingredients and food and intentionally save a little since the food package meals at the Inn were costing P350-450 per person.

I would highly recommend Jo and Johnny's Resort for a smaller group. The Inn was clean and peaceful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had such a wonderful weekend experience at the resort and definitely go back again.
