I discovered Stilts while I was doing my research for a pre-nup location. It was clear to me that I wanted a beach shoot location and it actually took days before my searching brought me to the Stilts website. I had a lists already of possible beach locations but I still kept on looking for something that will satisfy me until I saw Stilts and at that instant, I knew I found what I was looking for.
1 | L O C A T I O N
Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort is located at Brgy. Sta. Ana, Calatagan Batangas, a 3 - 4 hours drive from Tagaytay. Maragondon thru Cavitex is also an alternative way. It is located on the right side that was not easy to see if you are driving fast as the sign was placed parallel to the road. I cannot think of any landmark but the Puesto Del Sol Resort. Once you see the Puesto Del Sol, it means that you already missed the Stilts as Stilts comes first before it. Hahaha. That was what happened to us. We got lost and almost reached the end of the town. :)
With the small entrance gate, we didn't expect to see a large area inside. It was a long stretch of path walk that was also accessible to cars. You need to walk a few meters from the parking area and you will see this along the way. A large park covered with trees that comes with a view of the sea.
This was the way going to the information office. What a nice welcome sight!

After the front desk, pool will be the next that you will pass going to any of the rooms or beach front. It was surrounded by trees and concreted path. What I loved about Stilts is its ambiance, modern yet earthly.

You'll definitely enjoy the grass and trees in the place. Bench were scattered around where you can sit to just breath and relax. All those greens in the surrounding says a lot about it's builder. And I love people who supports nature.
R e s t a u r a n t
One of the most relaxing part of the resort. You will never take for granted eating in this spot. With the overlooking sea and floating cottages, your meal will be definitely extra tasteful.
There was an open area and roofed area of the restaurant. I think I know which spot you will pick if you have the chance to dine in it. :)
F l o a t i n g C o t t a g e s
If you know the meaning of Stilts, you'll definitely understand why it is named after it once you see these floating cottages. Though our pre-nup shoot will only last for a day, I can't help but request to see the inside of the cottages. There will be a room inclusion on the contract to be use by our team while doing the shoot but unfortunately, it was not one of these cottages.
These floating cottages made the place extra special.
I was really tempted to stay. The interior was so pretty and large that really looked cozy and inviting, can accommodate up to 7 persons and more but when I found out how much it cost for a night, I immediately left shaking my head. Haha. Check it here to find out their latest rates.
B e a c h F r o n t
The sand of Calatagan was creamy and fine. Though not as fine as the other beachesas Batangas is known for diving, Stilts beach was clean which make it looks so nice.
It will just be nice to wake up in this view..
The creamy sand, the Calatagan sky and the floating cottages were all perfect together. Absolutely worth the long hours of drive. And there were a lot of activities to do around, you won't run out of adventures. They have a jet ski, a banana boat, mangrove and diving tours and an ATV trails adventure which I promised to experience all once given a chance to return.
You can check my previous post regarding our Stilts pre-nup shoot to see if it's a picture perfect shoot location. But whether it's for a shoot or a quick vacation get away, Stilts is worth a try. Hope you will enjoy your visit as much as we did! :)
PS. This photos and information was when I was here way back 2013. I tried to book a stay several times but failed due to in-availability of my preferred scheduled. :(
