It was a day after my birthday when one of my closest friend, Ruziel, invited me for a birthday treat at Trinoma. Quezon City. I was happy to get a little break and have a chat with her as we never see each other for months. After our dinner, we decided to kill some time and spend it over some sweets.
Mouth melting sweets display.

The bakery was really noticeable. Kudos to their design team. They achieved the goal to capture the attention of everyone who passed by especially that this generation are more on the Instagram worthy photos than the product and service itself. The bakery was small but cute. So when we enter, we hurriedly look for the best table where we can capture a nice photos.

We ordered a caramel cheesecake, a frappucino and a tea. The teapot was cute and it came with a tea cup as well. Two in one.
So here's the verdict. The bottom layer of the cake was okay. Just okay because it was not really something special. The cheesecake on top tasted like a mold. Sorry but we didn't finish it. I know there are cheese that really tasted like mold but I'm not expecting to taste it on a cake. I'm not a taste expert when it comes to food but surely my taste buds knows when the food is good or not. The frappe was too sweet. We also didn't finish it. Tea was the savior. Hahaha! An instant tea to add on the insult. I hope I didn't sound so mean on that. It's an honest opinion. Not bad but nothing exceptional on the taste. I won't judge their food base on just one cake and one drink. I'll give it a chance next time. :) I hope it will be good.

From the time that we entered until we left the place, no one greeted to say welcome or to say thank you for coming. It was not actually a big deal for me at first but the service while we were there was the one I want to give attention. There were 2 or 3 servers and all of them were snob. They didn't smile all through out. We came around 7 PM and I want to understand that maybe they were already tired but customer service will not accept that as an excuse considering that the bakery at that time was just 3 tables full. I can adjust on the fact that the food we ordered was not good as expected but an attitude will be bad for the first impression. I really hope someone from Vanilla's management can read this.
So with that kind of food and service, our only take away were photos and the chika and laughter we made during our stay. Good thing they have a nice ambiance.
I don't want to define Vanilla Bakery for that first bad experience. I'm willing to give them another chance and will try again next time. And as what my last photo tell, always look for the brighter side. Choose H A P P I N E S S! :)
