THE NON VIRGIN PARADISE | VIRGIN ISLAND, BANTAYAN

Updated: Sep 24, 2021

If we will be literal with the word virgin, the Virgin Island cannot be claimed to be untouched anymore. There were some developments in the Island that I believed was made for the comfort of the visitors. The structures built around was all temporary like nipa cottages and wooden benches that can be easily remove if necessary and I'm glad that they didn't touch the Island's natural state. With all those enhancements, Virgin Island still possessed the tranquil and rustic atmosphere.

We rented a boat going to the Virgin Island, a nearby island from the Sta. Fe Beach where we were staying. What I love about Bantayan is that it was not crowded yet. When we asked our resort to bring us to the Virgin Island, the boat picked us up and it was just me and my husband, having the boat all by ourselves and the cost was good for the half or whole day depends on your agreement with the boat captain. I forgot how much we paid but I remember that I didn't hesitate so it means that it was smaller than those I am used of paying when we do Island tours. There was an entrance fee in the Island amounting to P500 for the two of us. I was at first shocked with the amount but suddenly shrugged it off and told myself that I will stay there forever just to compensate the amount we paid. Lol! Kidding aside, the amount was unexpected. The P500 fee was good for the 1st two persons, then the rest will be P100 each if you are in a group, good for whole day stay.

Boat Docking Station. Amazing white fine sand!

Although disappointed with the entrance fee, the beach didn't disappoint. The island has a fine white sand and a turquoise pristine water. I almost jump off the boat seeing it. And the coconut trees around giving the Island green of shade was beautiful. Such a paradise. And I can't help but fall in love with it instantly.

There were few people in the Island. I guess 2-3 small group of tourist, some boatmen and caretakers of the Island. Not more that 10 people I think. With the size of the shore and the beach, everyone has their own spots, felt like they were actually not there. Made me happy with the calmness and privacy we had.

Every spot was beautiful! And I always love palms so this was quite a treat for me.

Tents and cottages were scattered around. There was no store in the Island. So if you're planning to stay longer, bring a lot of drinking water and food.

The water was cold and clear under the sun. Enjoying my peaceful swim without worrying of bumping into anyone. I have the beach all by myself. Oh, such a dream!

Hubby having his moment

After the swim, the best thing to do is to lie down, sleep and read. Relaxing! My 5 month bump was for sure enjoyed as I did.

The hammock was inviting so I did try. :) Vacation should always be like this, no worries!

My view while in the hammock.

It was hard to leave when our time was up. We stayed for 4 hours and I fought hard the urge to stay longer in the island. One of the best 4 hours I had in a vacation. Virgin Island is definitely a must if you are in Bantayan. Grab all the chances to be there because it won't disappoint. In fact, it is now part of the list of my favorite beaches in the country. And though I wanted everyone to see it, there is always a silent wish on me to keep it hidden on the crowd so that one day if I comeback, I can recreate this magical moment when we had the island all by ourselves, peaceful and clean.
